Amanda Bennett is a wife, mother, homeschooling parent, speaker and author of more than 30 books for families. Holding a degree in engineering from the University of Florida, Amanda worked in engineering and professional research before turning home to raise and educate their three children. With more than 15 years of homeschooling experience, Amanda and her husband now have one child finishing her last year in veterinary college, another who is completing his last year of college, and a rambunctious eight-grader that keeps things interesting. As a home educator, she has been motivated to develop a more effective means of learning for children and a more interesting method of teaching for parents. The results of her efforts, several series of unit studies, have become very popular across the country and around the globe. Her goal in writing is to help children enjoy learning, and develop into self-motivated students that will enjoy a lifetime of learning. Amanda speaks across the country at homeschool conferences, churches and women’s retreats, sharing encouragement, laughter and helpful information from her heart, using personal trials and tribulations as examples. Having survived two serious automobile accidents and numerous surgeries in the past few years while homeschooling, Amanda is uniquely qualified to share the ups and downs of reality family life and homeschooling. Because of her experiences, she can relate to audiences not only as a teacher, parent and homeschooler – but as a compassionate and understanding Christian friend.
