We are so excited to have Dr. Susan Wise Bauer as a featured speaker at this year’s Homeschool conference. Dr. Wise Bauer has had several of her written works published, some of which include The History of the Medieval World: From the Conversion of Constantine to the First Crusade (2010), The History of the Ancient World: From the Earliest Accounts to the Fall of Rome, and The Art of the Public Grovel: Sexual Sin and Confession in America (2008). Susan’s extensive education is nothing short of impressive. Growing up in Virginia she was educated at home by her parents long before “homeschooling” was an official education. She then went on to enter college at the age of seventeen as a Presidential Scholar and National Merit finalist. She continued her education by receiving a Master of Divinity at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Wise Bauer now teaches writing and American literature at William & Mary, where she also received her Ph.D. in American Studies. Susan now resides in rural Virginia on a farm with her large family that is composed of her husband, three sons, a daughter, five dogs, three cats, three horses and a variable amount of chicken. She runs Peace Hill Press, continues writing and is currently working on another book titled The Complete Writer which is a K-12 writing program for home educators and private schools. She also still does lecture on writing and history, while her husband, Peter, is a minister of a nondenominational church.
